this was my request for Mom to make every year on my birthday! My favorite!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon chicken boullion
  • 1 cup water
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons curry powder (green or red) depending on what you like
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

How To Make indian curried shrimp

  • Step 1
    Dissolve bouillion in water. set aside
  • Step 2
    In a large saute pan, melt butter and then add onions, cook slowly and stirring until the onions start to get tender.
  • Step 3
    add curry powder, salt sugar, ginger and flour to the butter/onion mixture. stir and cook on low until combined.
  • Step 4
    Gradually add the milk and chicken broth and continue to stir until all lumps are dissolved. Add the shrimp and lemon juice and cook just until shrimp is heated through.
  • Step 5
    Serve over rice and stir fried veggies if desired.
