this was my request for Mom to make every year on my birthday! My favorite!

  • 3 lb
    shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp
    chicken boullion
  • 1 c
  • 5 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
    minced onion
  • 6 Tbsp
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    curry powder (green or red) depending on what you like
  • 1 1/4 tsp
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 2 c
  • 1 tsp
    lemon juice

How to Make Indian Curried Shrimp


  1. Dissolve bouillion in water. set aside
  2. In a large saute pan, melt butter and then add onions, cook slowly and stirring until the onions start to get tender.
  3. add curry powder, salt sugar, ginger and flour to the butter/onion mixture. stir and cook on low until combined.
  4. Gradually add the milk and chicken broth and continue to stir until all lumps are dissolved. Add the shrimp and lemon juice and cook just until shrimp is heated through.
  5. Serve over rice and stir fried veggies if desired.
