Ingredients

  • 1 pound firm white fish, I used cod cut into 8 pieces
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 medium red onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • LEMON YOGURT SAUCE
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • fresh cilantro, chopped

How To Make fish stew with lemon yogurt sauce

  • Step 1
    Season the fish pieces with salt and pepper and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Mix the ingredients together for the yogurt sauce and set aside.
  • Step 3
    Place the oil in a large pan. Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper and sauté for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add the spices and the tomatoes. Simmer 5 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Then add the peas and fish and simmer 5 more minutes.
  • Step 6
    Top with the yogurt sauce and cilantro.
