Ingredients

  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 4 tablespoons black bean sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons shaoxing wine
  • 1/4 cup chinese fermented black beans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • FOR THE FISH
  • 2 pounds fish fillets ( i used trout)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 - red bell pepper sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced

How To Make fish in black bean sauce

  • Step 1
    Whisk the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside. Rub the cornstarch on the fish and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Add the oil to a wok or large skillet. Add the onion, and red bell pepper and saute until softened. Add the garlic fish and reserved sauce. Cook until fish is done.
  • Step 3
    Serve with rice
