Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds fresh fish filets
- 1.25 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 - green onion, chopped bunch
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamon, ground
- 1.5 teaspoons orange peel, grated
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- - flour
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1 teaspoon horseradish
How To Make fish cakes with horseradish-sour cream sauce

Step 1Pat filets dry with paper towel then place filets in food processor or grinder.

Step 2Cook and mash potatoes. Set aside and cool.

Step 3In a bowl, mix together all remaining ingredients except vegetable oil.

Step 4Add fish and potatoes to mixture, shape into 2-inch patties.

Step 5Dust patties in flour or cornmeal.

Step 6Heat vegetable oil in saute pan until hot.

Step 7Saute cakes until golden brown on both sides.

Step 8The should be firm but not overcooked, about three minutes on each side.

Step 9Sauce: Mix sour cream and horseradish together.
