crawfish pie

A friend from school made this for my husband and I. Her name was Linda Miller. That night she made one with crawfish and one with shrimp if I remember correctly.

Ingredients
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 - ribs celery-chopped
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 large onion-chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 - bell pepper-chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions-chopped
- 2 cups cooked crawfish tails-chopped
- 1/4 cup dried parsley
- 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 - egg-beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
- 2 - 9-inch pie crust
How To Make crawfish pie

Step 1Heat whipping cream. Add celery and the 1 TBSP butter. Let simmer 5 minutes.

Step 2In a Dutch oven; heat butter. Add onions, garlic powder, and bell pepper. Saute until limp.

Step 3Add creamed mixture, green onions, crawfish and parsley. Simmer 10 minutes. remove from heat.

Step 4Pour mixture into bottom of pie crust. Place second pie crust on top and seal edges. Make three 1-inch slits in top crust.

Step 5Bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake another 35 minutes

Step 6*hint: place a cookie sheet underneath pie to catch drippings!
