Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    crabmeat
  • 1/4 tsp
    curry powder
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    bread crumbs
  • 1
    broccoli, frozen or fresh bunch
  • 1 c
    cheese, grated
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice

How to Make Crab Broccoli Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Drain crab and set aside.
  2. Cook broccoli until almost tender and arrange in the bottom of greased 1 quart casserole; sprinkle with grated cheese.
  3. Melt 1/4 cup of butter and saute the onion; add flour, curry powder and salt.
  4. Gradually stir in milk; cook until thickened, then stir in lemon juice and add crab.
  5. Pour over broccoli and cheese in casserole.
  6. Mix 2 tablespoons of melted butter with bread crumbs and sprinkle over top.
  7. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
  8. NOTE: This is a good dish to use imitation crabmeat, if you would prefer. Also does nicely in individual casseroles.
