Ingredients

  • 4 large tuna steaks
  • 1 1/2 cups cilantro
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 3 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

How To Make cilantro pesto stuffed tuna steak

  • Step 1
    Cut a pocket in each tuna steak down one side but not through the other side.
  • Step 2
    Place the cilantro, garlic, pine nuts, and 1 tsp salt in a food processor and process drizzling in the olive oil.
  • Step 3
    Stuff each tuna pocket with the pesto. Season the tuna steaks with the remaining salt.
  • Step 4
    Add some olive oil to a cast iron pan. Sear the tuna on each side about 2 minutes per side.
  • Step 5
    Let rest 5 minutes, then serve.
