Ingredients

snow pea pods, trimmed
1/2 tsp
white pepper
3 Tbsp
peanut oil
1 Tbsp
cornstarch
1/2 c
cold water
1
garlic clove, crushed
3/4 lb
king crab meat, frozen
3/4 lb
mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp
ground ginger
1 c
poultry stock
2
scallions, sliced

How to Make Chinese King Crab with Mushrooms and Snow Peas

Step-by-Step

  • 1Steam snow pea pods for 5 minutes.
  • 2Place in bottom of serving dish and keep warm.
  • 3In a large skillet, heat oil until very hot but not smoking.
  • 4Add garlic an saute until golden. Remove.
  • 5Add crab meat and toss, cooking for 1 minute.
  • 6Stir in mushrooms and cook for 1 minute more.
  • 7Add stock and pepper and bring to a boil.
  • 8Add cornstarch mixed with 1/2 cup of cold water until the cornstarch is dissolved and cook, stirring until sauce thickens.
  • 9Pour over snow pea pods, sprinkle with ginger and toss to mix.
  • 10Sprinkle with scallions and serve hot with cooked brown rice.
