brown sugar and honey glazed salmon

This recipe came from my ex-husband who is a great cook in his own right. It is my oldest sons favorite. It's not difficult at all and looks and tastes wonderful. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
  • 2 dashes salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - vegetable oil
  • 4 - salmon steaks 6 ounces each

How To Make brown sugar and honey glazed salmon

  • Step 1
    In a small saucepan, melt the brown sugar, honey and butter over medium high heat until butter is melted.
  • Step 2
    Remove from heat and whisk in mustard, soy sauce, olive oil and ginger. Allow to cool.
  • Step 3
    Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 4
    Coat salmon steaks with a little bit of vegetable oil and place in the skillet.
  • Step 5
    Coat the flesh of the salmon with the brown sugar mixture.
  • Step 6
    If you like your salmon medium cook it for about 8 minutes turning 1/2 way through. If you like your salmon more well done cook it 15 minutes turning 1/2 way through.
  • Step 7
    Plate and pour extra sauce over the salmon. Enjoy.
