One of my personal favorites, because it's so easy to make. And you can adjust the seasoning to your liking of spiciness! I usually serve this w/ my biscuit herbed onion bread. They go well together!

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter.
- 1 cup chopped onion.
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 - green bell pepper, chopped.
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon chlili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- 2 - 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes w/ chiles, undrained
- 1 cup frozen okra, thawed
- 1 cup water
- 1 pound lg shrimp, peeled, deveined.
How To Make bayou gumbo

Step 1In lg pot or dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, green bell pepper and garlic. Cook, stirring, until tender. Stir in flour, chili powder, salt and cajun seasonings. Cook 1 min. Add tomatoes, okra and water. Simmer for 10 min. Add shrimp, cook 5 min, or until pink.
