    8-ounce halibut steaks
  • 3/4 c
    chicken broth
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    dried marjoram
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1
    lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp
    fresh parsley, chopped

  • 8 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    celery salt
  • 1 tsp
    dried dillweed
  • 1/2 tsp

How to Make Baked Halibut with Sour Cream-Dill Sauce


  1. For the fish: Place steaks in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Pour broth over the steaks; drizzle with butter.
  2. Sprinkle with the garlic, salt, marjoram, and pepper. Top with the lemon slices. Sprinkle with parsley.
  3. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Serve with the sauce.
  4. For the sauce, combine all ingredients. Chill.
