Ingredients

  • 1 pound cod fillets or other firm white fish
  • 1/3 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 sesame seeded hamburger buns
  • buttermilk ranch dressing

How To Make baked fillet-o-fishy wishy sandwich

  • Step 1
    Cut the fish into 4 square-ish pieces.
  • Step 2
    Beat the egg in a shallow bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper & cayenne pepper. Dip each piece of fish into the egg & then dredge the pieces in the flour mixture.
  • Step 3
    Place the flour coated fish pieces on a greased baking sheet. Bake the fish at 375 degrees for 5 minutes. Flip the pieces & continue baking them for 5 minutes, or until the fish flakes & is done.
  • Step 4
    Wrap the hamburger buns in foil & steam over a pot of boiling water for 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Step 5
    To assemble the sandwiches, spoon a generous amount of homemade ranch dressing on the top & bottom bun. Place the fish in the sandwich & enjoy. Serve the sandwich with homemade french fries.
