Ingredients
- 3 1/2-4 pounds whole chicken
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup fresh dillweed, chopped
- 3/8 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 6 1/2 large garlic cloves, minced
- 2 - bay leaves
- 1 - lemon, thinly sliced
- 3/8 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 tablespoon paprika
How To Make zabar's lemon-garlic chicken

Step 1Place chicken in a large zip-top heavy-duty plastic bag. Combine the next 7 ingredients; pour over the chicken. Seal bag securely. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for 12 hours, turning occasionally.

Step 2Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the lemon slices. Discard the marinade. Place the chicken, breast side up, in a large roasting pan. Combine the oil and paprika; pour over chicken and rub over skin. Place lemon slices over the chicken.

Step 3Bake, uncovered, at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees; cover and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done. Uncover it during the last 10 minutes.
