chicken/sausage white chili recipe
A friend of mine brought this to a party and was kind enough to give me the recipe. As usual I tweaked it a bit and it quickly became a family favorite. Great on a cold Colorado evening. I cut down on the jalapenos if kids are eating it.

Ingredients
- 2 cans great northern beans
- 1-6oz can jalapenos
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2-10 oz cans cream of chicken soup
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 teaspoons ground oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 3 quarts chicken broth
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 pound jimmy dean hot sausage
- 1 pound chicken
- 2-4oz cans green chilies
- - sour cream, montery jack cheese for serving

Step 1In 5 quart dutch oven saute onion and garlic in oil until tender. Combine seasonings in small bowl; add half of the mixed seasonings to onions, garlic, and oil. Saute for one minute. Add sausage & chicken and coat with remaining seasonings. Cook until browned. Add beans and broth and bring to a boil. Simmer for two hours

Step 2Stir in chilies, jalapenos, and undiluted soup ( cream chicken soup). Simmer another hour.

Step 3Top with cheese and sour cream. Serve with tortillas or tortilla chips.
