whale (crispy chicken)
(1 RATING)
I found this recipe many years ago and it has become a family favorite. When I passed it along to my daughter-in-law and she made it, her son renamed it WHALE! We don't know why, but ever since then that is what we call it. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures, never thought to take one before. We serve this with mashed potatos, fruit or salad and veggies.

Ingredients
- 1 - egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup potato flakes, dry (must be flakes)
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
- 1/4 cup butter (margarine is okay)
- 4 - chicken breasts, or 6-8 thighs
How To Make whale (crispy chicken)
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Beat egg and milk together and set aside
-
Step 2Melt margarine in 9x13 inch baking pan
-
Step 3Roll Chicken in egg/milk mix, then coat with potato flake mix (place potato flakes, parmesan cheese and garlic salt in a ziplock bag for coating)
-
Step 4Bake, skin side up, in 400 degree oven for 45-50 minutes. I find that if you will use 1 stick of butter and turn the chicken once, it comes out better.
