this quick and easy, low fat with the turkey instead of ground beef. My grandchildren love it

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 6 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup vodka
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 2 tablespoons italian seasoning
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese cut into 1
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 pound pasta of choice
  • - parmesan cheese

How To Make vodka pasta sauce with meatballs

  • Step 1
    Heat olive oil in dutch oven. Saute onion and garlic about 5 min on medium. Add vodka and stir until vodka is absorbed. Add crushed tomatoes and Italian seasonings... simmer on low about 10 min. Place meatballs in suce and simmer approx 20 min untill meat is done. Serve over your pasta of choice and sprinkle with parmesan cheese
  • Step 2
    Mix turkey,egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, Italian seasoning and parsley flakes... mix well. Shape into large meatballs, ( will make approx 6-8) depending on size. Place a cube of cheese in center of meatball and shape around the cheese to totally enclose. Brown in 2 tbsp olive oil
