A different way to serve your turkey on Thanksgiving Day. The recipe works just as well with chicken nuggets.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    turkey nuggets
  • 1/2 tsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    tony chachere's creole seasoning
  • 2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1/4 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    maple syrup
  • 1 c
    plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 c
    peanut oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    sea salt
  • 1/3 c
    wesson canola oil
  • 2 clove
    garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp
    accent
  • 2 Tbsp
    peppercorns, crushed

How to Make Turkey Nuggets

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut turkey strips into one inch pieces.
  2. Combine buttermilk, canola oil, peppercorns, garlic cloves, poultry seasoning, Tony's, accent, sea salt, maple syrup, and paprika into a freezer bag. Squish everything around. Place Turkey strips in freezer bag and marinate overnight.
  3. Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, together in a shallow bowl.
  4. Drain excess marinade off the turkey in a colander. Dip in the flour mixture. Heat peanut oil to 350 degrees. Place floured turkey strips in the hot oil and fry 4 - 5 minutes until they are golden brown.
