Tonkatsu is a Japanese style BBQ sauce. Makes a luscious chicken. Be sure to have plenty of napkins

Ingredients

  • TONKATSU SAUCE
  • 1 clove ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • CHICKEN
  • 6 - chicken thighs
  • - salt and pepper
  • GARNISH
  • - toasted sesame seeds

How To Make tonkatsu glazed crock pot chicken thighs

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients together for Tonkatsu Sauce. Set in refrigerator and let flavor mingle.
  • Step 2
    Salt and pepper the chicken thighs and lay them in a single layer in a large slow cooker. cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Half way through cooking add half of the Tonkatsu sauce and continue cooking.
  • Step 3
    Once chicken is done remove from slow cooker and place on a baking sheet. Cover with the remaining tonkatsu sauce. Place under the broiler and broil watching carefully until the top of the chicken is browned and sauce thickened. About 5 minutes. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
