sweet and sour chicken nuggets

This dish is made with frozen breaded chicken nuggets and it's a snap to whip up.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium green pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 large onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 can 14oz. can chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 can 8oz. pineapple chunks
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 cups frozen chicken nuggets, thawed
  • - hot cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup pancake syrup

How To Make sweet and sour chicken nuggets

  • Step 1
    In a skillet, heat oil to medium heat and saute green pepper and onion until crisp tender. Remove and keep warm. Add broth, pancake syrup, vinegar, and soy sauce to the skillet; bring to a boil.
  • Step 2
    Drain the pineapple, reserving the juice and set pineapple aside. Combine cornstarch and the reserved juice and blend until smooth. Gradually add to broth mixture.
  • Step 3
    Bring to a boil and cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add chicken nuggets and cook 2 minutes. Stir in the pineapple and sauteed vegetables and heat through. Serve over rice. 4 servings.
