sweet and sour chicken

This recipe came from a friend many years ago and is a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 5 - chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless cut into small bite sized pieces
  • SAUCE
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup ketcup
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

How To Make sweet and sour chicken

  • Step 1
    Cook chicken in a little oil and butter until lightly browned. Put into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan that has been sprayed with Pam.
  • Step 2
    Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Add the chicken broth, ketsup, vinegar and soy sauce. Cook, stirring until thickened. Pour over chicken pieces. Cover with foil
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes. Serve over hot rice. Enjoy...we sure do!!
