3 t. oil, divided
3 chicken breasts, halved
2 medium onion, chopped
2 tsp. mustard powder
pepper to taste
3 t. lemon juice
3/4 cup orange juice
1 t. beef bouillon, dry
1 tsp. cider vinegar
1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
1 1/2 cups water
3 t. brown sugar
1/4 t. sage

How to Make Sugar Barbecued Chicken


  • 1In large skillet, heat half the oil. Add half the chicken and fry over
    medium heat until browned on both sides. Transfer to a 9 x 13" baking dish.
  • 2Repeat with remaining oil and chicken. Add onions to same skillet. Cook over
    low heat 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Preheat oven to 300
  • 3. Stir in
    remaining ingredients except chicken. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
    Pour over chicken. Cover and bake 1 1/2 hours. Serves 6
