This thick spicy honey sauce is a perfect glaze for crispy chicken bite.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound chicken breast, skinless and boneless, cut into bite size
  • 2 - egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • - vegetable oil for deep frying
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS :
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ cup chicken stock, no salt
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

How To Make spicy honey chicken

  • Step 1
    For chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together egg white, corn starch, flour, salt and pepper. Add chicken to the batter bowl.
  • Step 2
    For sauce: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar and chicken stock.
  • Step 3
    Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy medium sauce pan over medium heat.
  • Step 4
    Drop the chicken one by one carefully and flip the chicken until golden color about 5 minutes. (make it second batch when the pan is full enough of chicken). Take all the chicken pieces from pan with stainless steel strainer and drop them back into oil until chicken golden brown and crispy. Place chicken on a plate with paper towel, set aside.
  • Step 5
    Heat the butter in a medium non stick skillet over medium heat. Add grated garlic and cook for short time about 10 seconds.
  • Step 6
    Add sauce mixture and whisk until sauce bubbling and start to thicken. Add the chicken, toss to coat and serve.
