Ingredients
- 21/2 pounds chicken, in like size pieces
- SAUCE
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 4 slices fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons wine
- 1/2-2/3 cup sugar
- 2 cups water
- 3-4 medium star anise
- GARNISH
- 3 sprigs green onions sliced on the bias for garnish
How To Make soy sauce chicken

Step 1Combine all ingredients except chicken and bring to a boil.

Step 2Add chicken, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.

Step 3Remove cover, lower heat Turn chicken and baste Add more water if needed

Step 4Cook another 30 minutes Sauce should be thick, about 1 cup

Step 5Cut large pieces of chicken in half and toss in sauce Garnish with 3 green onions sliced on the bias

Step 6Serve over rice
