I made this for a retirement party many years ago and people talked about it for years. It works well for a family or a larger group.

Ingredients

  • 6 - split chicken breast
  • 1 cup sour cream or plain greek yogurt
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs, ritz or any round butter cracker

How To Make sour cream chicken casserole

  • Step 1
Mix sour cream, lemon juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce together.
  • Step 2
Place chicken breasts in a single layer in the bottom of a pan. Pour cream mixture over the chicken.
  • Step 3
Spread cracker crumbs over the top and then drizzle the butter over top of all of it.
  • Step 4
Bake for 45-60 min. at 350 degree until chicken is done.
  • Step 5
Alternatives: If you are making this for a large group I cut the chicken into reasonable sized pieces. I also do not increase the sauce equally. If you are making it for 60 I would multiply the cream mixture by 8 instead. It will still add the flavor to it all. The sauce and chicken can be combined up to 24 hours in advance. Just add the crumbs and butter before baking.
