So easy to make and so delicious. My family loved it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Easy and delicious, we love this Crock Pot chicken and dumplings. It's super creamy with shredded chicken throughout. Once in the slow cooker, the biscuits turn into soft, fluffy dumplings. This recipe makes a very thick chicken and dumplings. If you like it thinner, we suggest adding a second can of chicken broth. Quick and easy to prepare, this is a hearty comfort food dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chicken breast or loins
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 10.5 oz each
  • 1 can chicken broth, 14 oz.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (divide sprinkle 1/2 on each side of chicken)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper (sprinkle on both sides of chicken)
  • 1/2 stick butter (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup onion (sweet vidalia is what I use)
  • 1 can biscuits (cube each biscuit; makes 9 bite-size dumplings)

How To Make slow cooker chicken & dumplings

  • Seasoned chicken in the slow cooker.
    Step 1
Optional you can spray the inside with PAM spray to prevent any sticking. Add your pre-washed seasoned chicken to your slow cooker. Turn your slow cooker (Crock Pot) on high.
  • Remaining ingredients added to the slow cooker.
    Step 2
Add all of your remaining ingredients - except your biscuits. You can slow cook for 6-8 hrs on low or 4 hrs on high (I do the quick time - my kids & I get impatient).
  • Chicken shredded in the slow cooker.
    Step 3
Once the time cooked is up, use two forks to shred the chicken.
  • Diced biscuits added to the slow cooker.
    Step 4
Then add your diced biscuits to your slow cooker. Stir. Cook an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour. I cook mine an additional hour to make sure the biscuits were done.
