I made this tonight and my family loved it! I'd never made chicken and dumplings before, so I was nervous about how it would turn out, but it tasted great! I went off of a very basic recipe and tweaked it to my own liking. I will definitely be making this again!

Ingredients For slow-cooker chicken and dumplings

    chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 sm
    onion
  • 4 md
    potatoes
  • 2 md
    apples
  • 1 can
    mixed vegetables
  • 1 stick
    butter, cold
  • 2 tsp
    garlic, minced
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup, family size
  • salt and pepper
  • rosemary, dried
  • basil, fresh
  • oregano, dried
  • thyme, dried
  • bay leaves, dried
  • 2 lg
    chicken bouillon cubes
  • water to cover
  • 2 pkg
    biscuit dough

How To Make slow-cooker chicken and dumplings

    Place chicken, butter, garlic, onion, apple, and potato slices into crockpot. Add canned veggies. Season to taste, using fresh or dried seasonings.

    Add one family-sized can of cream of chicken soup on top of ingredients.

    Mix bouillon cubes with water to cover ingredients; pour over everything until just covered.

    Cover and cook on HIGH for 6 hours. At 5 hours, add biscuit dough to top; tear each buscuit into four pieces. Recover and cook remaining hour.
