here is a all in one chicken and dressing or you may use turkey if you like

  • 1 c
    onions, chopped
  • 1 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1
    pan cornbread, crumbled
  • 6 slice
    bread, crumbled
  • 1/4 lb
    ritz crackers, crumbled
  • 2 tsp
    thyme, sage or poultry seasoning, ( i use sage)
  • 5 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 4 medium
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda

How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken And Dressing


  1. simmer large chicken until done. remove and let cool. reserve broth. remove chicken from bones and set aside.
  2. saute onions and celery in butter. pour this mixture over bread crumbs and ritz crackers in very large mixing bowl. add seasonings and toss together.
  3. pour enough broth into mixture to moisten. add beaten eggs and mix together well.
  4. add baking powder, milk and remaining broth. mixture should be very slushy.
  5. add chicken. pack tightly into a 5 quart slow cooker. cover and cook on high for 1 hour. reduce heat to low and cook 4-8 hours.
