I love the taste the lemonade gives this dish! You wouldn't believe the nice tangy flavor!! Yummy!

Ingredients

  • 3 pints chicken pieces, like thighs and drumsticks, skinned
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • - hot cooked rice, or noodles

How To Make slow-cooked sweet & sour chicken

  • Step 1
    Place chicken in a 4-quart slow-cooker. Sprinkle w/ salt. In medium bowl, whisk together lemonade, brown sugar, ketchup, and vinegar.
  • Step 2
    Pour sauce over chicken. Cover, cook on low 6 hrs, or on high for 3-1/2 hrs. Transfer chicken to a platter and keep warm. Pour liquid from cooker to a medium saucepan. Skim off the fat.
  • Step 3
    In a lg measuring cup, combine cornstarch and water. Stir into saucepan. Cook, stirring until thickened. Cook 2 more mins. Spoon sauce over chicken. Serve w/ rice or noodles. I used Asian rice noodles.
