I'm not sure where this recipe originated, probably Taste of Home. I have been making it for many years & my family always enjoyed it. My daughter now cooks it for her family.

Ingredients
- 1 - broiler/fryer chicken(3-4 lbs)cut up (i prefer drumsticks & thighs)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 cup almonds, slivered
How To Make slow-cooked oriental chicken

Step 1In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the chicken in oil on both sides Transfer to a slow cooker.

Step 2Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic & ginger; pour over chicken.

Step 3Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low; cook 4-5 hours longer or until meat juices run clear. Remove chicken to serving platter; sprinkle with almonds. Spoon juices over chicken or thicken if desired.
