Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon,cut into pieces
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 3-3 1/2 pounds cut-up frying chicken;skin removed,or boneless parts of chioce
- 1 1/2 cups baby carrots
- 1 cup frozen tiny onions,thawed
- 1 jar mushrooms,drained ,4.5 ounce size whole
- 1 clove garlic,minced
- 3/4 cup merlot wine
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 2 teaspoons parsley flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
How To Make slow-cooked chicken in wine sauce

Step 1Cook bacon in a large non-stick pan.Medium heat until crisp.

Step 2Remove the bacon,DRAIN on paper towels.REFRIGERATE UNTIL NEEDED.

Step 3Remove and discard all but 2 tbsps. of the bacon drippings from skillet.

Step 4Combine 1'/4 cup flour ,salt and pepper,mix well.Coat chicken pieces well with the flour mixture.

Step 5Add the chicken piecesto skilletcok 7-10 minutes or until deep golden brown on all sides.

Step 6Place the browned chicken in a crockpot.

Step 7In same skillet,combine the carrots,onions,mushrooms,and garlic.Cook and stir over medium heat about 5 minutes or until lightly browned.

Step 8Add to the chicken in the crockpot.

Step 9Add the wine,broth,dried parsley,thyme,and marjoram to same skillet,cook and stir until hot,scraping up BITS from bottom of the skillet.Pour over the chicken in the crockpot.

Step 10COVER and cook on LOW for 7-9 hours.until chicken is fork-tender.and its juices run clear and veggies are tender.

Step 11REMOVE THE CHICKEN AND VEGGIES with a slotted spoon.Place on a serving platter.COVER WITH FOIL TO KEEP IT WARM.

Step 12in a small bowl,combine water and 2 tbsps. of flour;blend well.Add to crockpot,increase temperature to HIGH setting,cook until thickened.

Step 13Sprinkle chicken with the reserved bacon and chopped parsley.

Step 14SERVE WITH THE WARM SAUCE.
