This is a recipe that I had to figure out how to make because it was my favorite at a restaurant that was near where I used to live. When I moved, I couldn't find anything to match it anywhere around, so I had to make my own. Most people like this one better!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or safflower oil
  • 2-3 large chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey mustard dipping sauce (like Ken's)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped in large pieces
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup pre-cooked crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make sinful honey mustard chicken

  • Step 1
Heat a skillet over medium flame. Add oil when hot. Then fry the chicken breast until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet to a plate, cover with foil to keep warm.
  • Step 2
Remove oil from the pan. Heat the pan. Add water to deglaze the pan.
  • Step 3
    Add the honey mustard sauce.
  • Step 4
When the honey mustard is completely stirred in, pour the sauce over the cooked chicken. Wash out the skillet before the next step.
  • Step 5
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Heat a skillet over medium flame. Add oil when hot. Cook onions until soft. Add mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until soft (may add more oil if necessary).
  • Step 6
    Then add the bacon.
  • Step 7
Place chicken in a baking dish.
  • Step 8
The sauce that is leftover on the plate should then be added to the skillet with the onion mixture. Cook the mixture and sauce until it has thickened.
  • Step 9
Pour the onion and sauce mixture over the chicken, making sure that most of the onion mixture is on top of the breasts.
  • Step 10
Cook the breast in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the onion mixture is a crispy brown color.
  • Step 11
Sprinkle the cheeses over the top of the chicken and continue cooking for another 5 minutes so that all the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. Serve hot.
