These are tasty sandwiches. I also make them with crushed ritz crackers instead of stuffing mix.

I hear that canned chicken is hard to find in some areas-you may have to poach and shred about 4 small chicken breasts. They are good topped with a slice of cheese also.
I love to put some chips on it for extra crunch :)

  • 28 oz
    canned chicken or turkey
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1 box
    stuffing mix, chicken
  • 1/4 c
    chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp
    onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 8
    hamburger buns

How to Make Shredded Chicken-or Turkey sandwiches

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Open the canned chicken and pour off all the broth into a container, keep it for later use. Put the chickenn in a 2 quart casserole dish and shred it with a fork. Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the buns and stir well. If it looks dry, add a bit more broth. It should be somewhat soupy as the stuffing will plump while cooking.
  2. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Let cool about 5 minutes and serve on buns.
