I like to use Japanese rice seasoning called furikake pronounced (furry cocky) Gives the rice a great flavor and amps up the chicken dish. Shoyu chicken is a main staple in Hawaii and is the Japanese version of soy sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 8 cloves garlic minced
- 1 medium onion diced
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon each paprika and red pepper flakes
- 6 - boneless skinless chicken thighs
- - fresh cilantro for garnish
- - seasoned rice for serving
How To Make shoyu chicken

Step 1Mix all the ingredients up to the chicken together until well blended. Add the chicken pieces and let marinate 1 to 2 hours.

Step 2Grill or fry until done. Serve over seasoned rice and garnish with cilantro.
