This is the way I make my oven baked chicken. It is simple and does not need the extra cholesterol from eggs. It comes out crispy and juicy every time. Putting dabs of margarine and spraying the chicken with water gives it a crispy outer coating. Delish!

Ingredients

  • 1 - cut up fryer chicken
  • - flour
  • - italian bread crumbs
  • - lawrey's season salt
  • - pepper
  • - garlic powder
  • - margarine

How To Make shake n bake breaded chicken

  • Step 1
    rinse chicken, leaving it wet, and sprinkle on both sides the Lawrey's season salt, pepper, & garlic powder.
  • Step 2
    In a bag make a mixture of 1 cup bread crumbs to 1/2 cup flour. Make more if needed. Mix together you want it more bread crummy than floury. Put pieces of chicken in a bag a carefully coat each piece. Try to get as much coating on it without it falling off. It is best to do this with wet seasoned chicken pieces.
  • Step 3
    Place on a baking sheet and put dabs of margarine on each piece. If you have a water bottle spray each piece with water to make the breading moist. Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until cooked in the middle.
