2 l
quality root beer (ie a&w, mug, barq's)
pork shoulder, pork butt, chicken breast or thighs, or beef roast (i tend to buy whatever is on sale! any meat will work!)
1 bottle
favorite bbq sauce

How to Make Root Beer Pulled Pork


  • 1Trim excess fat from the meat and place into crockpot
  • 2Pour root beer to cover meat. Cook for 8+ hrs or until very tender
  • 3Pull meat from crockpot and reserve juices.
  • 4Shred meat apart and put back into crockpot to keep warm
  • 5Add your favorite bbq sauce and cooking juices to the meat to your taste preferences
  • 6Serve meat on rolls with coleslaw
