Ingredients

  • 1 package egg noodles, no-yolk variety
  • 12 oz. packages breaded chicken fillets, frozen
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash white pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup white wine, dry
  • 2 tablespoons parsley

How To Make poor man's simple supper

  • Step 1
    Prepare fillets according to package directions.
  • Step 2
    Cook noodles according to package directions; drain.
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, in a 1 qt saucepan cook onion in hot butter until tender, but not brown.
  • Step 4
    Whisk in flour, salt, pepper & garlic powder. Add cream all at once. Simmer & cook, stirring, until thickened, about 2 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Whisk in the wine & parsley; cook 2 minutes longer.
  • Step 6
    To serve, arrange noodles on warm serving platter. Place hot fillets on top. Pour some of the sauce over fillets; pass remaining sauce.
