This chicken recipe sounds crazy, but it is really good.I don't remember where I got it. I've had this recipe for years. I tried it and my family loved it.

Ingredients

  • 1 - chicken, cut up ( i use breast and tenderloins)
  • SAUCE:
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make paper sack chicken

  • Step 1
Heat all sauce ingredients in saucepan.
  • Step 2
Dust cut-up chicken ( whatever chicken you prefer) pieces well with flour, salt, and pepper. The amount of flour, salt and pepper depends on the kind of chicken you are preparing.
  • Step 3
Grease the interior of a common grocery brown paper bag.(heavy or thick kind) I greased mine with crisco.
  • Step 4
Pour sauce over chicken and lay the chicken pieces in the bag. Fold and fasten the end. (I stapled mine shut.) Lay it on a cookie sheet.( I used a shallow pan with a little sides to it.) I laid my bag on the pan BEFORE I put the chicken in.
  • Step 5
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. SLIT SACK OPEN, FOLD BACK and serve.
