This recipe came off of a Saltine cracker box. I have made it a few times and my kids love it!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt, optional if using salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 24 - saltine crackers, finely crushed
  • 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces

How To Make oven-fried chicken

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place margarine in 15x10 1/2x 1-in. baking pan; set aside.
  • Step 2
    Combine flour, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper in a medium size bowl (big enough to roll chicken); have cracker crumbs in a bowl
  • Step 3
    Combine egg and milk in a separate bowl. Roll chicken in flour mixture, dip into egg mixture and then roll in cracker crumbs
  • Step 4
    Place coated chicken in baking pan. Bake 30 minutes; Turn. Bake and additional 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
