  • 2-6
    bone-in chicken breast halves, skin removed
  • 1/3 c
    chopped onion
  • 3/4 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    white wine or cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper

How to Make Oven Barbecued Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Spray skillet with cooking spray. Brown chicken about 7 minutes each side. Transfer to sprayed baking pan.
  2. Respray skillet. Cook onion til tender,about 3 minutes; may need to add a teaspoon or so of oil.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 10-15 minutes. Pour over chicken and bake, uncovered, 45-55 minutes.
