Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce
How To Make oven baked bbq chicken

Step 1Place the chicken breasts in a zipper storage bag on a cutting board. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch using a meat mallet. Place the chicken breasts on a parchment-paper-covered baking sheet. Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil.

Step 2Whisk the smoked paprika, dried thyme, ground cumin, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder together, then rub the mixture over the breasts. Let the breasts rest for 30-60 minutes.

Step 3Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 4Bake for 5 minutes. Baste the chicken with barbecue sauce and bake for 5 minutes.

Step 5Flip the chicken and baste it again. Bake for 5 minutes or until cooked through. Chicken breasts are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let the chicken rest for 10 minutes.
