Oven Baked Barbecue Chicken Legs

Judi Harris-Nulle

I LOVE BBQ chicken. Lately once a week I've been buying Tyson's BBQ Chicken Wings. They are so easy to prepare in the microwave and they fit into my diet of not too much sugar, amazing enough! When I was grocery shopping yesterday at Wal-mart I noticed they had a 4.5 pound chicken legs for $5.98. Hmm - that's less expensive than the $7.00+ I'm spending on Tyson's chicken wings. I have good BBQ sauce at home and I'd get more "cluck for my buck."

This isn't a standard recipe. It's one I made up on my own and it just happened it turned out GREAT! It takes 2 hours to bake but it's so simpl

How to Make Oven Baked Barbecue Chicken Legs

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Spray a large baking sheet with PAM and place the chicken legs on it in 2 rows. Sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper. Use whatever BBQ sauce you want and drizzle each leg with some of the sauce. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  3. At 1 1/2 hours take the chicken out and turn each piece over, then drizzle more BBQ sauce on each piece (I actually COVERED the chicken in BBQ sauce). Put it back in the oven and continue baking for another 30 minutes.
