Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed and minced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce - 3 if not using hoisen
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ketchup - 3 if not using hoisin
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 - 1 1/2 pounds cornish hens
How To Make ~ oriental cornish hens ~

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Rinse hens and dry. Remove excess fat and place in a roasting pan. In a small bowl, add garlic, Hoisin sauce, soy, ketchup, sugar and sesame oil - stir to blend well. Now, pour the sauce over the hens, completely cover cavity and outside of the hen. Set aside for 30 minutes to marinade. Place hens breast side down and bake for 20 minutes - basting occasionally. Turn hens breast side up for another 20 - 25 minutes, basting. Remove hens and cut each in half. Serve with your favorite sides. Note: I usually double the sauce and pour half over the hens and use the other half to baste with.
