Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    boneless chicken, chopped to bite size pieces
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • ·
    oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 c
    cornstarch
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    green onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1/2 tsp
    sesame oil
  • ORANGE SAUCE

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    water
  • 5 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 5 Tbsp
    white vinegar
  • ·
    zest of 1 orange

How to Make Orange Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Place chicken pieces in large bowl.
  2. Stir egg, salt, and 1 tablespoon oil and mix well. Stir cornstarch and flour together. Add chicken pieces, stirring to coat.
  3. Heat oil for deep frying. Add chicken. Cook in small batches for 3-4 minutes. Do not over cook.
  4. Remove chicken and drain on paper towels. Set aside.
  5. Mix orange sauce ingredients together.
  6. In a clean skillet add 1 tablespoon of oil,Stir fry for 10 seconds. Add green onion and rice wine vinegar and stir for about 5 seconds. Add orange sauce and bring to a boil. Add cooked chicken and stir until coated.
