Trying to get a sauce like cheeseake factories orange chicken sauce this is what I came up with..it is worth the time and prep

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 - raw egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • - oil for frying
  • CARMEL SAUCE
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 5 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger root
  • 1/2 cup green onions chopped fine

How To Make orange carmel ginger chicken

  • Step 1
    Cube the chicken into bite size chunks
  • Step 2
    dip into beaten egg and dredge in seasoned flour
  • Step 3
    deep fry pieces until chicken is golden brown and no pink left..approx. 4 minutes depending on size of chunks
  • Step 4
    drain and put into large mixing bowl
  • Step 5
    prepare sauce on stove
  • Step 6
    ..all ingredients brought to a thickening boil
  • Step 7
    pour over prepared chicken and stir until well coated..put in serving bowl and sprinkle chopped onions
  • Step 8
    serve with rice
