Trying to get a sauce like cheeseake factories orange chicken sauce this is what I came up with..it is worth the time and prep

Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1
    raw egg
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • ·
    oil for frying
  • CARMEL SAUCE

  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 5 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 2 tsp
    corn starch
  • 1/4 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 1 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 2 tsp
    fresh grated ginger root
  • 1/2 c
    green onions chopped fine

How to Make Orange Carmel Ginger Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Cube the chicken into bite size chunks
  2. dip into beaten egg and dredge in seasoned flour
  3. deep fry pieces until chicken is golden brown and no pink left..approx. 4 minutes depending on size of chunks
  4. drain and put into large mixing bowl
  5. prepare sauce on stove
  6. ..all ingredients brought to a thickening boil
  7. pour over prepared chicken and stir until well coated..put in serving bowl and sprinkle chopped onions
  8. serve with rice
