open face sloppy joes on italian bread
This is like a sloppy joes except you eat it with a fork and do not pick up. This recipe is usually very messy and I found a way to enjoy without the mess. I serve mine with cheese under the meat or on top. We also like a few drops of mustard on the top.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 pound bulk ground chicken (white meat)
- 1 large onion chopped and green pepper and 2 stalks of celery chopped
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard,
- 1 teaspoon salt, pepper and oregano
- 16 OZ cans tomato sauce
- 1 cup ketchup ( your choice)
- 2 tablespoons worestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons vinegar (apple cider)
- 1 teaspoon hot paprika and 1 t. fresh garlic
- 1 loaf of french bread (sliced)
- cheese of your choice

Step 1In large stock pot Brown meat with vegetables drain if necessary. Stir in remaining ingredients Bring to a rolling boil. Then add to crockpot, .cook on low for 6 hours.

Step 2Stir once in awhile. Once done serve this on thick sliced French bread. Sometimes I put the cheese under the meat and othe times I put the cheese on top, its your choice
