My entire family loves this dish, it's tasty, quick and versatile. Sometimes I add drained peas and carrots or whatever veggie I fancy at the moment.

Ingredients

  • 4- 6 large chicken breast halves
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 8 oz packages sour cream
  • 8 oz packages shredded cheddar cheese (i use sharp cheddar)
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves
  • 1-2 - bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 package french fried onions

How To Make off the chain chicken casserole

  • Step 1
    Place chicken in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add rosemary, bay leaves, onion powder, garlic powder, lemon pepper, thyme, oregano, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until chicken is done and tender. Remove chicken and set aside to cool then, de-bone and shred or chop the meat.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine soup, sour cream, 3/4 pkg shredded cheese (reserve some for top), and butter. Mix well and stir in the chicken meat. Spread mixture evenly into a greased casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese and french fried onions. Bake for 15-25 minutes until hot and bubbly. Serve and enjoy!
