Ingredients
- 4 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 8 carrots, peeled and cut
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Mirin
- 1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice, approx. 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons freshly-grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups white rice, steamed
How To Make not-everything-is-a-bagel teriyaki chicken

Step 1First, slice the chicken into small, bite-sized pieces.

Step 2Next, sear it in a few drops of sesame oil and a pat of butter.

Step 3Third, carrots and a splash of water. Steam a few minutes or until carrots are tender.

Step 4In a glass bowl, combine soy sauce, Mirin, lemon juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.

Step 5Stir in sauce and simmer until thickened.

Step 6Serve with steamed white rice.
