This is my slightly altered version of the famous barbecue sauce created at Cornell University's Farm Home Extension in the 1950's. This is a very popular recipe and variations of it are used all over New York State.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 5 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoons herbes de provence
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 - egg
- 5 - 8 - pieces of chicken, cut up
How To Make new york style bbq chicken

Step 1Note: This works with any type of chicken you wish to use: bone-in, skin on breast, legs, thighs, or skinless and boneless as well.

Step 2Mix all ingredients well. Add chicken pieces your choice and marinate for at least 3 hours or overnight. Grill slowly and baste while cooking.
