my mom's chicken or hamburger fried rice

This is one of my favorite rice dishes that my Mom use to make , I change the meat to what ever I have on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger or left over chicken pieces
  • 1 can mushroom pieces
  • 1 can mushroom steak sauce
  • 2-3 cups instant rice
  • 2-3 cups water
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 1-2 tablespoon kitchen bouquet
  • - salt & pepper to taste
  • - green onions ; chopped for garnish
  • - soy sauce

How To Make my mom's chicken or hamburger fried rice

  • Step 1
    Use left over cooked chicken torn up into pieces or brown 1# hamburger ; drain off the grease.
  • Step 2
    Add mushroom pieces , mushroom steak sauce , 2 or 3 cups of instant rice and equal amounts of water for the rice.
  • Step 3
    stir in pkg. of onion soup mix , dash of kitchen bouquet flavoring , salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 4
    Heat to boiling ; stir and turn down heat , cover and continue to cook until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Step 5
    Top with chopped green onions and soy sauce to taste.
