Ingredients

  • 2 pkg
    frozen stir fry vegetables
  • 1 medium
    onion, sliced
  • 2 lb
    boneless skinless chicken breast or boneless porkchops
  • 3 c
    chicken broth
  • 3 c
    cooked rice or noodles
  • 1 pkg
    ramen noodle seasoning packets (whichever is appropriate chicken or pork)
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch (for thickening)
  • ·
    soy sauce
  • ·
    garlic powder
  • ·
    black pepper

How to Make Mock Stirfry

Step-by-Step

  1. Slice meat into strips. Add with onion to skillet & season with garlic powder, black pepper & soy sauce to taste. Be careful of the saltiness of the soy sauce. Sautee on low till meat is done & onion is tender.
  2. Remove meat & onion from pan, add 2 cups of broth & bring to a simmer, stirring to remove bits from bottom of pan.
  3. Whisk together contents of ramen seasoning packet, 1 cup of broth and cornstarch till smooth.
  4. Add cornstarch mixture to pan slowly stirring constantly till thickened to your liking.
  5. Steam veggies till crisp-tender. Fold meat & veggies into sauce mixture to coat. Serve on top of rice or noodles.
