I didn't have a wok & necessity is the mother of invention my mother always says. This is quick and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages frozen stir fry vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast or boneless porkchops
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cups cooked rice or noodles
  • 1 package ramen noodle seasoning packets (whichever is appropriate chicken or pork)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for thickening)
  • - soy sauce
  • - garlic powder
  • - black pepper

How To Make mock stirfry

  • Step 1
    Slice meat into strips. Add with onion to skillet & season with garlic powder, black pepper & soy sauce to taste. Be careful of the saltiness of the soy sauce. Sautee on low till meat is done & onion is tender.
  • Step 2
    Remove meat & onion from pan, add 2 cups of broth & bring to a simmer, stirring to remove bits from bottom of pan.
  • Step 3
    Whisk together contents of ramen seasoning packet, 1 cup of broth and cornstarch till smooth.
  • Step 4
    Add cornstarch mixture to pan slowly stirring constantly till thickened to your liking.
  • Step 5
    Steam veggies till crisp-tender. Fold meat & veggies into sauce mixture to coat. Serve on top of rice or noodles.
